ELDOA

ELDOA… What is it? Have you heard about it? Are you curious??

ELDOA, (Etirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Osteo-Articulaire), is a series of exercises designed to improve and maintain good posture and spinal health developed by renowned French osteopath Guy Voyer, D.O.  ELDOA are precise exercises that place the fascia, muscles, tendons and ligaments of a vertebral pair or joint in the exact position to open/de-coapt the specific spinal or joint segments.

For musicians, this is important: the compressive forces of repetitive movement caused by daily practice and performance breaks down tissue, compromising posture and alignment which over time leads to pain and dysfunction. As ELDOA creates space within the joints, there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the inter-vertebral discs, spinal disc re-hydration, increased muscle tone and awareness, metabolic and hormonal balance, normalization of the myofascial tensions, lessening of pain, better posture, improved sleep, and an increased sense of well-being. How does this happen? Regular practice of the ELDOA postures not only creates physical space in the joints, allowing fluid to enter, cushion and heal, but rewires the brain and nervous system to adopt and reset the new position of the joints. Over time this improves and/or eliminates physical dysfunction and pain.

This revolutionary strengthening/stretching system is for EVERYONE, from world-class athletes and weekend warriors, musicians and dancers, to people who are not used to regular active movement (and everyone in between.) The benefits of regular ELDOA practice are unlike anything that exists and will change all aspects of how one moves and feels, improving performance and joint mobility by fixing problems at their source. Regardless of a person’s flexibility or strength, the factors of progression and zero-impact of the exercises make the ELDOAs possible for anyone to do and are extremely effective.
